This is just to have a vote to take it to referendum. She could sign it and agree but in the future when the constitutional ballot comes she could say no. This referendum needs 300,000 votes. Another vote will be required in the future. Both are important

Yes they are sitting as Independents now. I'm better they may be sitting as Alberta Party members depending on how that party rebranding goes in their special general meeting. They are looking to add the labels progressive and conservative to their party name.

To be honest, I would be very surprised if even one UCP MLA signs the petition.

The two MLAs kicked out of the UCP caucus signed the petition with me yesterday.

Remember signing this one doesnt actually mean agreement. They can still in the future on the constitutional vote say no. I know it sounds confusing . Go to the forevercanada fb page or website for more info

You are so right. The petition is just the first step. Winning the actual Referendum vote is the next big challenge. Who knows if the Smith Regime will try and ignore a successful petition because she would rather have the Separatist question on the ballot.

If they have been kicked out of caucus, are they still UCP? I thought they would be sitting as independents.

Still, good for them for signing!

Just one point on the last #5 point, do not agree to have the MLA or MP use their camera because the photo will be deleted the moment you leave their office.

Sigurdson, Barlow - get ready for a visit in the next week! Then I’m writing a letter to the Western Wheel so that everyone knows where you stand, or fall, as the case may be.

what a great idea. If they believe in Canada and aren't scared of losing their job they should sign it

What do folks feel about compiling and publishing the MLA reactions to being asked to support Canada? They should know their position on this critical issue will be published.

This is a great idea as long as it's all MLAs, not just UCP

No reply yet from my email to UCP MLA Nathan Neudorf, Lethbridge-East. I sent it in early August.

Smith is - (using the words of David Climenhaga about access to COVID vaccinations) “Bizarre and Dangerous.” She will never allow herself to get within 10 yards of the petition.
