Many Albertans, including myself are disenchanted with the current arrangement in terms the cost of both operating and maintaining Canadian democracy. We are however reminded frequently that Canada is the best or at least ranked amongst the best democracies in the world. Alberta is similarly a remarkable democracy and enjoys an impressive geographic landscape which consequently produces food and other resources including lumber, and oil and gas, to both feed and fuel Candians and others on this planet. And we enjoy the gift of being blessed with n abundance of fresh water.
In stead of criticism and endless complaints, I urge Albertans to be grateful for these resources and to thank the good Lord regularly for the many advantages and blessings that we too often take for granted.
There must be a reason why people around the world are choosing Canda as there first and only destination so they too my achieve the same liberties and freedoms that some would recklessly put at risk to experiment with the uncertain future promised by separation from Canada. I was born and rsised in southern Alberta. I grew up in and attended school in the rural community of Claresholm. I practiced law both in small town Alberta and the City of Edmonton and Calgary. I love both cities and I proudly cheer for both the Flames and the Oilers and for the Stampeders and the Elks. I had the privilege to seek nomination and election in the 2006 federal election as a candidate for one of the major parties and although unsuccessful, I won 6553 votes and the most votes that I had ever won in my life. If you're unhappy with confederation as we know it, role up your sleeves and seek a nomination or election for public office. Volunteer in your community. Thank your member of Parliament or provincial MLA, or town councillor for the many sacrifices made and demanded by public service. Thank also any surviving war veterans and offer to volunteer at the local branch of the Legion. Finally, consider what you can contribute to improve the state of your local community or the state of this country. When you have done this possibly then you have qualified yourself to sit in judgement and advocate for other solutions or even institutions of government.
I am proud that I call Alberta my birthplace and my home. My grand parents and great grandparents were also proud to call Alberta home after migrating north from the State of Utah and staking a homestead west of Granum in 1908. There is no other place in the world quite like it.
I am proud to be a Canadian "our true north strong and free" Never should we lose sight of the fact more than 100,000 real Canadian heros shared a strong sense of duty and loyalty to Canada. They sacrificed their lives in defense of democracy and democratic values in both WW1 and WW2. Without any doubt, Canada deserves our loyalty and dedication in these times. If nothing else Lest We Forget.
Thanks for your comment. I'm not interested in convincing you to sign the Pro-Canada petition. It's a free country with the amazing confidence that it has a constitutional way for a province to leave the nation. You have to come to your iye conclusions as to what kind of a society you want to be a part of not just apart from.
I read that there’s a false narrative that you can sign on line! You must counteract that! Dirty politics at its worst! Good luck from Ottawa! Canada united & Strong!🇨🇦
Apparently it was discovered that there is a online petition circulating, this won't be accepted but the problem is that these citizens whom do it online will think they have legitimately signed when they haven't and then of course won't sign the actual petition. This is an in person petition, all volunteer canvasers have been acredited by Elections Alberta and will be wearing a legitimate lanyard showing this. If you ever are chatting with someone who says they signed online, please advise them otherwise. Terrible that the separatists would stoop this low.
I am convinced that the vast majority of Albertans are loyal CANADIANS. The separatist message is promoted by Danielle Smith, her cadre, and the UCP Party. Unfortunately, I feel the separatist message is also amplified by irresponsible mainstream media so it appears there is a larger constituency than actually exists supporting separation.
Thank you Ken. Im not sure if you saw my comment on your other post. Id love to chat sometime about where the alberta party is as currently in your eyes

Alberta separatist here.
You want me to sign your pro-Canada petition?
Ok.
Tell me how Alberta benefits from being a part of Canada & I’ll consider it.
Please refrain from tired patriotic platitudes, doomsday threats or attempts to bully, guilt or shame me into compliance.
You know, actual POSITIVE reasons.

Yes unfortunately someone is playing dirty. Thank you for your support. 🇨🇦
That someone could be a someone who has a history of violations with Elections Canada!
Is it true that someone is passing fake petitions around?
No it's not true but there may be someone fraudulently conning people to signing online which isn't legal.
I signed online. I hate that they have my address and cell number
