Pierre’s usual behaviour. He doesn’t care about anyone but only their votes

BOB. You have your facts wrong. Carney didn't "kick out" the former candidate in Nepean. The Liberal Party committee in charge of their election planning and strategy did. And they did it for cause. You will note the expelled 'candidate' never protested and he also withdrew himself as a leadership candidate too. As the saying goes, "you're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

So how come no liberals were upset when carney kicked out and elected member in a safe liberal riding .

Carney didn't lose an election and then kick out someone who had won.

Pierre did not kick out anyone. The conservative member that won the seat stepped away and offered it to Pierre. Carney kicked out an elected member so he could run for that seat you liberals need to lie just a little bit better.

Great opportunity to let Smith and her seperatist supporters know that AB is not for sale. Vote Liberal (or NDP if you like).

What do you have to lose it won't change the election results after all but might give you a voice in Ottawa and send a clear message to Danielle.

In a time where we need innovative, original humane bridge building leadership that gets nuanced complexities of todays Canada/World, I believe Pierre Poilievre will hugely disappoint all Canadians. A minority government can get some CPC amendments introduced to new bills. Opposition can get lots of changes that represent their voters. NDP's Singh did this. I think Pierre Poilievre hasn't the maturity and first clue how to leverage or finesse this Opposition strategy. He never did this during the last minority government. He failed the CPC. He didnt even bring down the last government! Absolute failure. Anti-far-right Conservatives need to speak up and calm down the CPC overrun with hate and rage. Elect a new leader that brings back calm and reason. You might just win at the federal level next time. Nobody needs fascists!

When a riding decides to ditch the incumbent, it’s a sure sign the incumbent did nothing to benefit them, or did not represent their voice. Careful what you vote for Alberta.

Ok Canadians of all political stripes. Be fair…be honest..be real. We had one of the most experienced international level representatives attending a meeting with the dumbest to ever occupy the White House. The world knows it for god’s sake and so do we. Quit this stupidity about who of our two political candidates was best qualified for that meeting. Polieviere would have been chewed to pieces. He’s unqualified really. All he’s been is a minor player. Think world leaders know him? Think he’s got the stature & natural people skills of Carney? Give me a break. Do not send a boy to do a man’s job. Or a woman’s job!

Please vote liberal and give our Prime Minister the opportunity to move our country forward without this human parasite interfering with everything. Pierre Poilievre has NOTHING to offer Canada. This is the opportunity to get rid of him for good! Please do the patriotic thing in this moment. He stole, your poor candidate’s seat because he thinks because you voted for your candidate almost unanimously, he can ride the wave of good faith someone built. It’s cowardly and weak, and exposes PP for the bag of shit he is.

I spent my formative years in that part of the province and once wrote a doctoral dissertation on same. I’d truly like to think that they can repeat what they did in an early ‘00s provincial by-election when some of them at least elected a Liberal MLA altho he was promptly sent on his merry way at the next regular provincial election. Alas, I’m not going to hold my …

He’s put himself in a stupid position. He is running in Alberta while Danielle is running a separation campaign. He will absolutely have to chose a side.

He could have taken Gladu’s seat in Sarnia but instead chose a political shitstorm.

I hope it blows up in his face. Like you said; he’s dropping into Smith’s separatist shitstorm.

If he sided with the UCP separatists, he will lose the non-extremist/non-separatist Conservative voters who want change in CANADA.

If he turns his back on Smith and her movement, he loses all the work from his hate campaign.

He may manage to fool people during the bi-election, but…

He needs ALL the Conservative votes to stand a chance for leadership.

I think they may have been panicking. “Holy crap! Our glory boy just imploded! Hurry, find him the safest riding possible!”

I also think Smith is not a team player and has gone completely rogue with her MAGA agenda. She was thinking about HERSELF and not how her actions would affect the party’s future.

There is so much to like about Alberta, especially our CAN DO attitude. Yet,I am distressed by the vocal hatred for Ottawa, the dislike for the Liberals and especially the inane separatist efforts - all fuelled by the UCP and whipped up by Poilievre’s rage farming. We do not need his negativity buttressing the victimhood attitude of our current AB leader. Which leads me wondering if Mr. Poilievre is so self centred that he thinks he can avoid a CPC leadership review by winning a safe seat after losing one.
